I dug out this old Ralph Lauren knit of mine back along. It's another piece i've always loved but struggled to style and wear it in way that felt original and relevant to my current style. Finally it came to me and I went with a classic meets sporty vibe. I hope now i've broken the barrier that was stopping me before, that new ideas and inspiration for this knit will follow.
So, i'm back from my time in Paris and it was certainly a memorable one but more on that soon!
Casual, comfy and relatively rainproof. We decided to quickly take these photos when there was a gap in the weather before we headed out, though that gap clearly didn't last for long, as you can tell from the photos, it started to hammer it down. Though like I've said before, taking photos in the rain really doesn't bother me all that much, as long as what i'm wearing isn't anything to delicate that could become damaged. I actually find it quite funny standing there getting soaked like some vain moron, plus I know the boyfriend hates it, so that makes it all the funnier! I tell him to enjoy it, dance around and have fun with it but no he's just not a rain loving kinda guy.
I know i've not really spoken much about my outfit but it's kinda basic, though weirdly I felt like I was channelling my inner Michael Jackson! Maybe it was the white socks on show and the black hat, I don't know but it's all good, he had the moves! :)
Before I leave you, I would like to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! I know there are some people out there, who don't like the forced gesture of it all but i'm of the opinion that we can live in a cold world sometimes and if we have at least one day where we can really celebrate and appreciate love, then is that really to bad?! I know I know each to their own but i'm just saying x
I have no idea how I actually managed to put a post together with photos of this outfit, I didn't think it was going to be achievable on the day, it was mad windy but i'm glad I persisted, as I really liked this outfit.
I've always been more inclined to go oversized then fitted and todays outfit is certainly no exception! Big coat, baggy leather trousers and a loose polka dot print dress did it for me but with keeping it mainly tonal apart from the coat helped in keeping it all relatively streamline. The bag is actually a clutch (you might of seen it before?) and it has these suede tassel things that you wrap around the clutch, so I undid them tied a knot in the top and wore it across my body. Cant say it felt completely secure but it held up and I guess thats what counts!
This old military inspired jacket by Joseph is one of those pieces that makes me feel like a million dollars every time I put it on! It truly is a special piece and i'm so glad I took the expensive plunge to buy it all those years ago. The fit is impeccable and the way it just glides on when I put my arms through is why it will always be money well spent.
I styled the jacket with my slouchy leather trousers, liking how the two heavy textures looked together and my slip on sneakers because well, I missed them, though on this particularly cold day I thought best to wear them with socks. And yes I know my hair looks shockingly shit bad here but the wind was out of this world that day and scraped back in a greasy bun was simply my only option! Haha nice…
I have been completely obsessed with military greens these last couple of months and especially when it comes to knitwear, coats and jackets. You might of already seen me wearing this sweater on Instagram, which I bought from Jack Wills outlet when I visited Kilver court a little ago. I wasn't sure at first because i'll admit it was a slightly impulsive buy and usually I like time to think about what i'm going to spend my money on but now i'm glad I trusted my instincts.
The sweater has a heritage feel to it and so I wore it with my slightly slouchy leather trousers and the birks and socks combo, which along with my pea coat created a cool juxtaposition between the classic pieces and the edgier ones.
