3 Is The MAgic Number

Hello lovelies,

So like i've said in previous posts recently, with the extremely prolonged winter we've experienced this year so far, outfit inspiration hasn't been at it's highest, though I must admit as crazy as it might sound to some, I actually enjoy the winter and to be honest, at times, find it easier to put outfits together then I do in the summer, probably because I like to experiment and layer, which is harder to do come the summer time but in saying that I am now definitely ready to embrace the Spring/Summer season. Though I must admit parts of this outfit i.e the the biker jacket over the trench coat came from the wonderful Garance Doré, sharing her fashionable insight in "things she can do right now", basically taking inspiration from looks that we seen from the Autumn/winter13 runway shows and applying it to the way she is dressing now, well then, seeing as she did write the post a little while ago. For those who haven't seen the post, click Here.

Anyway as it was pretty cold the day I wore this, I decided to take it one step further by also adding in my Edun gilet and because I was seriously at risk of looking like i'd been stuffed, I added in a brown belt to prove that I did indeed have a waist under there. I went with my boyfriend jeans, as they are one of my favourite things to wear this time of year and then finished of with my classic Miu Miu's and black clutch.

Well I hope you like the outfit. Thanksss sweeties,

Suited

Hiii

So I had been wanting create a suit look for ages now, the only problem was I didn't and still don't have a two piece suit in my wardrobe and even though there have been so many suits available to buy that I loved, for some reason I just never bought one, something I hope to do soon.

So I instead teamed together my old black blazer and black cropped trousers, which I would say just about passed for looking like a two piece suit. Now I didn't want the look to become to suited and booted and so for a top I chose a fairly casual navy knit, I as well wore my platform brogues as they always add a classic yet quirky touch to an outfit, which was exactly what I wanted for this look. I of course needed some extra warmth and knew my navy varsity jacket and beanie would give me that but in a manner that was somewhat unexpected and as well adding a sporty-chic tone .

I hope you like this look and i'll be back on Tuesday with an outfit post from one of my LFW looks. Thank you lots and lots,

Polka In The snow

Hello,

This is something I wore after the first round of snow fell a couple weeks back. When we do occasionally have snow fall, most of the time I will solely dress with the snow in my mind e.g. jeans, comfy boots, big sweaters and even bigger coats but then there are times where I have to maintain a certain standard of dressing, I will of course still keep a warm coat and hat on but tend not to change what I planned on wearing before being aware of the snow. All I do is add extra leggings, tights and tops underneath my main pieces, a great way to get around not freezing to death! So I had wanted to wear this Nicole Farhi polka dot dress once again, as it had been quite a while from when I last wore it. Now I know polka dot prints aren't very "on trend" right now but i've always considered the print a somewhat classic and also I don't dress for trends sake, don't get me wrong I appreciate a good trend but at the end of the day I wear something because I want to, regardless to whether it's on trend or not, something I am sure many of you fellow bloggers can understand and relate to.

So anyways I wore my dress over my trusty Jospeh leather leggings, something I always tend to gravitate towards in the colder months, I don't how I ever survived with out my leather leggings, one of my best and smartest investments. When putting this outfit together I had a rummage through my scarf and belt tub and found this old beige one of mine, a great and classic way to give a little lift to a black and navy pallet. I thought it would also be nice for a change to go for a slightly more fitted silhouette on top and chose my black blazer, not only to give balance to the look but because it also gave the look some structure. To complete the look my pointy boots came out to play and also my beanie, I liked how it added a cool urban twist. Of course I wasn't that fashion/style conscious to walk around without a proper coat and so I wore my ultimate snow and cold fighting coat, the puffer! And yes I know I know a few aren't keen but like I said before I simply love how cool and unexpected it looks with a pair of heels and a non hiking outfit. :D

Wow that was long one today! Well I hope you like the look, thank you and take care lovelies,

Daniella xx

Somewhere Nowhere

So hows everyones week been? Here's a little outfit post for you all. I find an annoying thing about winter time and for a blogger especially, is that the light disappears so quickly and like I am sure many of your fellow bloggers know, when you are relying on people to take pictures for you it can become increasingly difficult to get some good quality photos. I got these photos done just in the nick of time and I think they just about pass for an outfit post.

These were taken just before Christmas and I was just about to go late night shopping, something I always look forward to around Christmas time. So my approach to this outfit was casual with an edge, I was as well coming down with the flu, so I was in no mood to be creative and so i'm afraid it was back to basics in this instance but fortunately I had this pretty awesome beanie that I got from Bengt Fashion (a pretty awesome website I must say) I just love how it lifts the look and stops it from looking well, a bit boring! I guess a bit of sparkle really is girls best friend! I added a red lip in an attempt to distract from my tired and ill looking face.

Well I hope you like this look lovelies and I hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Daniella xox

p.s Sorry if I havn't been commenting on many of your blog posts this week. Annoyingly I came down with the stomach flu and am pretty much restricted to bed rest only. Typical just as I start to get back to the normal routine of blogging after Christmas, this happens! On a more positive note, check back here on Sunday, I'll have another outfit post for you all with a little something extra!  :)

Smart/Casual/Classic

Hey,

Wow can you believe how close we are to Christmas?! I am looking forward to having three solid days with the family and just eating everything I possibly can, watching as much crap Christmas tv and just taking it easy.

This is something I wore a few weeks back, the coat, jeans and scarf are from last winter and I just gave them a little update with this years boots and sunglasses. A breton-striped top and jeans is a definite fail-safe combo and lets face it, is always chic. For outwear I chose this tailored grey coat, as it smartened up the overly casual tone, mainly caused by the technically unflattering style of the jeans. When it came to shoes, I stuck with one of my favourites buys this season, my Kurt Geiger boots, they were perfect for that smart/casual balance that I wanted to emphasise on when putting this look together.

The outfit seemed to need a little pick-me-up so I added a splash of red with my knitted scarf from Topshop. Love how it seemed to lift all the colours within the look so perfectly. Even though a pair of classic Ray Ban's would of been again, a fail-safe option and were the first to spring to mind, I ended up going with these Ilesteva sunnies, they felt a little more unexpected. A quality I always try to include in a look. Occasionally I like to go against what first comes to mind, as it can be what takes an outfit from looking good to great because you've taken just a little extra time to see if your second thought works better then your first. Although I would almost always say go with your initial reaction.

Well my lovelies I really do hope you like this look, I hope to be back with a final little post tomorrow before my Christmas break.

Thank you and take care,

Daniella xox
