How I'm Making My Old Skirt Feel NEW

Outfits

Posted on

Okay, so I know not everyone will dig this way of making an old skirt new but clearly layering old skirts over my favourite pair of cut of jeans is something I can't stop myself from doing! And if it is indeed not to your taste, well then, my blog probably isn't the place for you because this lil trick is something i've done before and will likely do again in the very near future! Just saying….

Bubble hems are admittedly not always my favourite but every now and then the right item will persuade me to think differently. I was looking back at my outfit photos to when I first bought this skirt and the styling couldn't be any more different, not bad different, just very clean and simple but then it was the middle of summer. I always find this time of year tricky, temperature wise that is and finding the right balance isn't easy, I find I am either to warm or to cold and I thought I had layered this look enough but to be honest I was still a little chilly.

Well, enough rambling for today! Take care my lovelies,

what to wear when the world doesn't exist for three hours

Remember those grey days I mentioned? Yep this was one of them!

When meeting up with a friend, i'm always conflicted between wanting to dress pretty and needing to remain comfy, as I know i'm going to be sat down for while, as once we get chatting, that's it, the world doesn't exist for the next three hours. So, this time I settled with simple and relatively comfy wardrobe staples, which seemed to reflect well on the grey day that it was. But thankfully I had my yellow snake print clutch/bag from Warehouse to brighten up my day. There is nothing wrong with adding a touch of colour.

Take care,

Remember That TV Show?

The Boyfriends sweater is undeniably cosy, a checked shirt tied around the waist like a 90's cool kid from Sweet Vally High (anyone remember that TV show?) Skinny jeans with Marant loafers because this combo never gets old! A structured vest, that for some reason always makes me feel like a Jedi from Star Wars, which is totally fine with me, i've been a die-hard fan since the age of five plus it's still one of the chicest damn vests I own, take your bow you incredibly talented lady Kaylee Cho! And finally, two of my favourite necklaces because one was gift from my Mum and the other, is my Mums, love you Mummy.

Take care lovelies,

Hopping Gates & Playing Games…

Outfits

Okay I totally wouldn't advise breaking in to your boyfriends old school but to instead maybe just subtly/not so subtly hop over the gate. I'm not usually the crime committing kind haha but it all started earlier that day, I was playing the good old game, "how many times can I miss the hoop" on our own  basketball hoop, when the boyfriend took that first photo of me and so then, when it actually came to taking my outfit photos later that afternoon I said to the boyfriend, that I wanted to shoot them somewhere sporty, like a sports court and so that's how we harmlessly ended up where we did. What can I say, other then, i'm just a badass underneath it all. :D

Take care,

I would also like to express my great sadness and shock at the sudden and unexpected death of the young and beautiful Peaches Geldof ! It is truly very sad. Even though only a few really knew who she was, I still feel she was a kind, intelligent and passionate soul and above all a caring mother. May I leave all my love and prayers to her family.

Warehouse & The Fashion Shooters

Outfits

So, Ive been lucky enough to team up with the high street brand Warehouse for their fascinating "Fashion Shooters" campaign! I've been challenged to style one key piece from their SS14 collection and can you guess what I picked? Yep, I chose this beautifully printed skirt because with spring on our doorstep, how could I not?! There aren't many high street stores where I live but lucky for me, Warehouse is one of the few and so naturally, its always been a favourite place of mine to shop.

One of the main reasons i'm excited to be a part of the "Fashion Shooters" campaign is because I feel they have a good understanding that in these modern times, everyone loves and enjoys taking photos, whether that may be using your phone, digital or SLR camera, for me all the above, as each piece of equipment creates something different. And I love that Warehouse are encouraging that, they want to see what we all get inspired by and whats makes us happy in life. For me, it's style, fashion, buildings, unique streets and original little shops and not to forget, all the little details in-between.

And hey, if you are around (London that is) you could always stop by the "Fashion Shooters" Festival that Warehouse have specially created for all of those who are interested in everything that is fashion and photography. The event will take place on Saturday 22nd March. So sign up HERE and be a part of all the fashionable fun.
