Tweed Girl/Boy

Hi everyone,

Firstly I want to say a massive thank you for the wonderful comments I received on yesterdays post about bringing awareness to M.E. I am still working on replying to everyone individually and also to the emails I received. I really am overwhelmed by everyone who not only took the time to read the post but also to those who took the time to reply with such positivity, understanding and encouragement.

This is something I wore few weeks back when the sun was shining and the flowers were looking pretty, a great day for taking some photos, the only catch was it was a bit chilly but that didn't bother me because I like myself a bit of, what I call "in-between" weather.

For this look I decided to combine two of my favourite styles, classic and androgyny. I chose some wardrobe staples of mine, like this classic navy v-neck sweater and talking of which, this one is from Jack Wills that I bought back when I was about seventeen and oh how I wish Jack Wills would bring it back as I can tell you all that after wearing it excessively for years now, it still continues to hold the same shape, colour and feel as it did when I first bought it! SO lovelies if you come across the perfect navy sweater, just buy it regardless because they are rare and you totally won't regret it. I borrowed the Boyfriends Chinos, oh and his watch, hehe I know i'm badass! Added in a vintage leather belt and my good old tweed blazer (also from Jack Wills) I turned up the sleeves a little for some extra detail, whilst also creating some subtle print play with the striped print on my ankle socks. Instead of my Grensons I chose to go with my Jil Sander metallic brogues, just to prevent the look from becoming to proper. A pink lip and standing under a pretty blossom tree was, for me, a great way to bring some femininity to the look.

Well I look forward to reading your comments. Thank you for reading and take care,

Trenching It

Hi lovelies,

Like everyone i'm sure, a light trench coat is a favourite for the spring/early summer and even though i'm still holding out for the perfect one from Burberry, something i've wanted since I was about 13 years old, that doesn't take away from how crazy I still am about this one by Topshop Boutique. It would be fair to say, that this coat is one of my favourite buys this year and yeah yeah, i'm sure it has nothing to do with my obsession of anything khaki, olive, military or whatever you want to call it, green!

Now looking at these photos I see that this look is not that dissimilar from this outfit I wore during Paris fashion week! A white top, navy bottoms and a red lip, a combination that is clearly a winner in my books. Even though I like to experiment with my outfits, sometimes, it's just so refreshing to resort back to a classic, easy-chic and fail-safe combination, where theres no fiddling, no adjusting just easy simplicity, wouldn't you agree?! Though i've just realised that there I am "fiddling" with my top in one of the photos, ha typical! But you get my drift.

Well I really hope you like this look sweeties. Thank you for your comments in advance and take care,

Polka & Purple

Hello,

Quite a colourful one for you today. I'm not the biggest fan of purple when it comes to clothes but this Marni coat of mine is quite the exception, I know I don't wear it a lot, mainly because it's such a strong piece but for spring and early summer it's always nice to pull out.

I had wanted to wear it with this polka dot skirt since last spring but the chance never came about, so this time I made sure that this combo happened. I layered the light coat over this heavier leather jacket from Set as we all how complimentary a strong colour can look teamed with a neutral one and plus, the biker jacket bought a subtle but effective edge to the look. I wore my Cos green knit to break up the blend of the coat, jacket and skirt and finished of with my classic navy courts and my colour-block clutch.

Well I hope you all have a colourful day. Take care lovelies,

His & Hers

Hello,

If you have a boyfriend/ or husband you'll know and understand how addictive borrowing from their wardrobe can get! I've wanted to style this chunky-knit cardigan of his into one of my looks for a couple of years now but just never got round to it but given what must of been our 6 month long winter I decided to take the opportunity to finally wear it. Luckily the sun was actually out back when I wore this and at least looked spring-like even if it didn't feel it.

I wore the cardigan over my checked shirt for some subtle print play, though annoyingly I forgot to button it up properly throughout the whole picture taking process, grr…. love it when that happens!! To make the look feel and appear slightly more spring-like I went with some transeasonal favourites of mine such as this CLOSED utility jacket for it's lightweight material, my nude Chloe ballet flats because they are just so cute and chic for spring and then my Ally Capellino canvas & leather bag for a splash of colour that instantly brightens up my day. By adding in a brown belt and opting for skinnies helped to define my waistline a little better and balance out the proportions of the outfit.

Well thats me done for the day. Hope you like the look, thank you and take care,

Furry Cuffs

Hello lovelies,

Don't you just love it when you feel really really good in an outfit?! That's how I felt wearing this, mainly because I was comfy whilst still feeling somewhat elegant. But wouldn't you agree that theres something so awesome when you're able to feel comfortable whilst still wearing heels and granted these aren't exactly the highest or craziest looking pair of heels but you get my point. I think we can also all agree that boyfriend jeans are a girls best friend and are undoubtedly perfect for transeasonal wear, can't believe i'm still using that word when we're about to enter May but I feel it's allowed considering we did have a belated spring and plus the looks in my outfit posts normally tend to be from at least a couple of weeks back.

Talking of transeasonal pieces, this coat is also perfect for this in-between weather, as its quite a lightweight piece and I think the last time I wore it in a look was during PFW and that was quite a heavily printed and layered look, so it was nice to wear it with an outfit that consisted of just a pair of jeans, a white tee, a little cardi and my classic black Miu Miu's. A piece that should appear to feel completely out of place amongst a look such as this actually felt pretty dam cool and well if wearing a coat with giant furry cuffs in the middle of the day just to have some coffee and cake with my mum, sis and lil nephew makes me all happy inside, then that's enough for me.

Hope you like the look and thank you for taking the time to look at my not so little post. Take care,

Daniella xox
