Caps & Capes

Posted on

Sup, I can say that now as I wear caps which only makes me super cool.

Anyway heres another Autumn look of mine. I've mentioned before that when it gets to this time of year I like to get out all my autumn classic's to which have a heritage feel about them. So a combination of my trusty old checked shirt, my cosy speckled knit and this Aubin & Wills cape had to be done.

It would of been very easy to slip on a pair of skinnies and some ankle boots with this three piece combination but I wanted to create something a little more unexpected this time around and contrast those heritage elements rather then adapt to them. So I started of with these Alexander Wang shorts, okay not that crazy but I liked how they added to the proportions of the outfit whilst keeping that tone on tone feel. For a slightly more ladylike approach I wore my ever so chic pair of Miu Miu shoes and Chanel bag, which I then finished of with this River Island Paisley print cap. I love how one small piece can transform a look and the way it contrasted not only heritage tones but also the ladylike ones was the exact effect I was going for. I think the reason the cap somehow works is probably due to the fact the colour is similar to the rest of the pallet, creating a far more subtle and approachable contrast, whilst still managing to give the look an edge.

Well I hope you like this look, sorry about ALL the pictures, It was super hard to narrow it down. Thank you for taking the time read this and also for any lovely comments. Take care,

Laid Back Smart

Hope everyones weekend is going well.

This is was another one of those looks that I could not decide what to wear due to lack of energy and the heat. So I did what I always try and do if I am struggling for inspiration when putting an outfit together, which I am sure most do which is just to resort back to classic, chic basics of the wardrobe and just work from there. I went with these T by Alexander Wang shorts, there are perfect not only for hot days but are also great for staying chic in hot weather. I then wore them with my Helmut Lang shirt, that I have had for years now and it's loose fit is perfect for a relaxed take on summer tailoring. These Tory Burch Sandals are also something I have had for years now and when it comes to timeless chic you can't beat a good pair of tanned leather sandals.

To lift to the outfit I just added in my Day Birger et Mikkelsen Tribal necklace and my Ally Capellino bag, both pieces are great for shots of colour.

Anyway enough for now I guess, think I have covered every last little detail haha! Hope you like. Thank you and take care,

Dressed Up Comfy

Hope your all having a lovely weekend. This is just a little outfit I wore a few weeks ago when one of my oldest friends Jake invited me to go to the XFactor auditions in Cardiff. Admittedly I've not been that fond of the program in the last two years, I much prefer The Voice now (probably because of Will.I.Am)  but i had nothing better to do that day and well I always like to take the opportunity to spend time with Jake when I can. The day was full of drama and we couldn't get a seat as we would of had to get there at about 3 in the morning to beat the line. Ridiculous in my opinion. Anyway my friend had a friend auditioning and just as we were about to go home his friend kindly got us some seats YAY we were saved!  I would show you some pictures but annoyingly I can't find them, I know they are on my computer somewhere……

Anyway on to my look, so i had to be comfy right but I also had to contend with the heat-so I went with these perfect shorts by T by Alexander Wang. I bought them back just before christmas and had only worn them once, they are great for those hot days when you don't have a clue what to put on! I wore them with just a simple white tee and my Topshop little grey cardi just to echo the simple and comfy vibes of these shorts. I wore my Asos statement necklace to give the the look an unexpected lift plus it helped me not to feel sooooo simple. I also wore my Topshop ankle boots and my HUGE Ally Capellino bag because I wanted to take, well pretty much a picnic with me hehe, believe it or not I'm a hungry girl.

Hope I haven't bored you too much with my ridiculous rambling?! Thank you Take care, Daniella xox
