PFW: Day 1

Hey there lovelies,

Here is what I wore on my first day at Paris fashion week. A look I really loved wearing, a great thing about it was that it was comfy to wear, which as you know or can imagine is a bonus at Fashion week and even though I had on a lot of layers, to the point I can't remember how many vests I was actually wearing, I was still freezing and to be honest I don't think there are any clothes out there that are made for the weather we had to endure in Paris! It was Freeeezing!

So we didn't have time do a whole lot that day but we did go to the Balmain show to shoot some street style and Wow, that was an experience I won't forget! I was pretty much a nervous wreck after leaving there, crazy doesn't even begin to cover it, I mean there were literally fights breaking out. On the other hand it was awesome to see all the super stylish folk in all their finest.

Right onto the outfit, I really wanted to create a look that had a vintage opulent vibe about it but I wanted to do it in a way that's relevant to my own sense of style. I don't know if it's considered a faux-pa to wear the same items to multiple fashion weeks but here I am wearing these Asos checked trousers again, oh and also the Birkenstocks and socks combo made another appearance. Though this time I styled both trousers and shoes with these two strongly printed kimonos of mine, it's a shame you can't see more of the other kimono, annoyingly the scarf seemed to cover most of it up. I also wore this amazing green coat, that i've been hiding from you, I just adore the way it hangs and those giant furry cuffs are just way cool. I finished of with a black wide brim hat and my Chanel bag, for those classic touches that I love so much.

Well I hope you like this look. Thanks sweetie and take care,

Daniella xox

Grungy

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you for all your comments on my weekend post, your support always means so much to me. Anyway here I am with an actual up to date outfit post, I still have loads to show you from like a month back but I just couldn't wait with this one.

I had, had this outfit in mind for a while now and for some reason I just hadn't gotten round to wearing it, now I feel that it was because I was missing this amazing arm and neck candy from Cooee, as well as needing to find myself a new beanie. I wanted to create a look which had an overall grungy feel, as well as having a certain amount of modern influence, whilst still keeping classic undertones apparent. I kept the proportions of the look fairly oversized to create a nonchalant vibe which I felt helped to evoke the grungy tones that I wanted for the look. And these wide leg trousers by Raoul were perfect for that. I then layered my oversized very old grey jumper over my sisters checked shirt and then my own checked shirt wrapped around my waist, for ultimate grungy detailing. To bring a slightly grown up twist to the look I wore my pointed boots and tweed blazer. Annoyingly it didn't fit over my arms, due to the layers. So, I instead did the cool-girl thing and just let it hang over my shoulders, which I ended up preferring anyway and yes because it made me feel cool!!

To complete the outfit my Cooee necklace and bracelets were definitely needed and I couldn't resist piling them up, though I missed out the red one as I think it would of been to much with all the other red in my look. I loved how they bought that modern and minimal appeal with such ease, which is something I felt was necessary for the look.

Well if I were talking out loud I am pretty sure I 'd be out of breath now! So see you's all in a bit. Take care,

Leopard Brogues & Rolled Up Jeans

Hello again,

This is an outfit I wore a few sundays ago when the boyfriend drove me, my mum and my nephew to the Haynes Museum, where you can see lots of different cars that have been built over the years. Yes this wasn't my choice of activity as you can probably guess it was my boyfriends but I thought my nephew would enjoy seeing lots of cars, as cars is like the BEST thing in the world right now in his eyes and in all fairness I do love looking at old classic cars and soaking up all the history they have, whilst imagining some of the people that might have of driven them. So all in all it was a good day.

Now on to more important matters, the outfit. I wanted to be feeling fairly comfy as we would be walking around that day and possibly even running around as my 2 year old nephew was with us. So I wore some fairly casual basics such as these Boyfriend jeans, a white shirt and a simple knitted cardigan and then contrasted those casual tones with pieces that had a slightly more tailored feel such as my beloved Topshop camel coat and these River Island leopard print brogues both from last year. The shoes added a great point of interest with their splash of print and texture whilst the coat added to the length play of the look creating proportional balance.

Well I hope you will all like this look. :) Thank you lots and lots for any lovely comments as always I am really very grateful,

Caps & Capes

Sup, I can say that now as I wear caps which only makes me super cool.

Anyway heres another Autumn look of mine. I've mentioned before that when it gets to this time of year I like to get out all my autumn classic's to which have a heritage feel about them. So a combination of my trusty old checked shirt, my cosy speckled knit and this Aubin & Wills cape had to be done.

It would of been very easy to slip on a pair of skinnies and some ankle boots with this three piece combination but I wanted to create something a little more unexpected this time around and contrast those heritage elements rather then adapt to them. So I started of with these Alexander Wang shorts, okay not that crazy but I liked how they added to the proportions of the outfit whilst keeping that tone on tone feel. For a slightly more ladylike approach I wore my ever so chic pair of Miu Miu shoes and Chanel bag, which I then finished of with this River Island Paisley print cap. I love how one small piece can transform a look and the way it contrasted not only heritage tones but also the ladylike ones was the exact effect I was going for. I think the reason the cap somehow works is probably due to the fact the colour is similar to the rest of the pallet, creating a far more subtle and approachable contrast, whilst still managing to give the look an edge.

Well I hope you like this look, sorry about ALL the pictures, It was super hard to narrow it down. Thank you for taking the time read this and also for any lovely comments. Take care,

Kimono & The Print Clash

Hi everyone,

Hope your sunday is going well. Might pop into Startbucks with the boyfriend to have an afternoon hot chocolate and then later, series two of Homeland is starting, super excited for that! How are you spending your sunday? Anyway On to  my outfit, this was one of my last late summer looks of year, aw sad times.

This was also the second time styling my Kimono and after the last time wearing it in a more a modern and minimal form I thought this time i'd go completely OTT and create some serious print clashing. To do this I started off by choosing some printed pieces that were either classic in print or classic in shape as this created a timeless balance between the heavy print on print look I was putting together.

I had to of course choose my Marni skirt as it's bold print worked well against the smaller prints. I chose a classic white shirt for a clean base and added in this very old French Connection striped cardi, as the colours and the print carried on that classic tone. As did these vintage navy gina shoes because I think anything more then a simple pair of shoes like these would of been to much for this OTT look. The kimono was the finishing touch along with my Totem Salvaged clutch, I liked how the boho tones of both pieces complimented each other, whilst contrasting the rest.

Other accessories were kept fairly minimal, with just my Ray Bans, Mqueen ring, a little bracelet and my watch.

Anyway enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope you like this look. Thank you for any lovely comments and take care,
