The Subtle Print

Hello dears,

I wanted to share a look with you today that includes some very special pieces of mine. You may remember me showing you some photos from the Bureau Seutail showroom that Joyce and I were lucky enough to visit when we were in Paris and you may remember me mentioning the designers and collections that we learnt about whilst there and one of them being Kaylee Cho, the young Korean designer! Well she kindly sent me two pieces from her Autumn/Winter collection, this wonderful printed blazer along with this wool vest. I was even told that blazer was designed with me in mind after she seen my blog, which is extremely flattering, humbling and actually quite overwhelming to hear.

Even though I have outfit ideas for these pieces being worn individually, I somehow ended up trying on the two together and really loved how it looked, I mean I get that they're from the same collection so of course one is going to compliment the other but for me it still had unique feel. I wore my two new pieces with my Reiss culottes not only because I am currently finding culottes to be soo super chic but also because their colour really seemed to lift the print of the blazer so perfectly. I know by choosing flats with an outfit that has these kind of proportions is a bit risky and goes against most rules but I like the edgy and modern-minimal flair that these Camilla Skovgaard babies always seem to bring to a look.

Well I hope you like the look and if you are interested in checking Kaylee Cho's full collection then click Here and I would suggest doing so because it's such an inspiring collection and it's hard to believe it's her first! A truly talented designer to say the least with a beautiful clean, classic and yet modern ascetic, whilst also being and feeling incredible wearable, something thats is very important.

Take care,

Daniella xox

The Snake & The Olive

Hello dears,

I don't know if you remember this leather mid-length skirt I bought from Reiss back last Autumn but here I am finally wearing it once again! I definitely think it's a piece you can wear all year round but I think it's especially perfect for transeasonal weather.

I really wanted to put together an outfit that had a clear ladylike charm but with a slightly more modern, minimal and refreshing feel that was relevant to my style, if I even have one?! (God that sentence comes across just a tad pretentious!) Moving quickly on, teaming this skirt with one of my favourite printed pieces - this snake print shirt by Equipment was a must, freaking love the colour combination and of course print plus texture is always an interesting mix. I chose to wear this beige knit, as not only did it compliment the colour of the skirt but also accentuated the vibrant print of the shirt. I finished off by taking a fairly classic approach to my shoes and accessories, like usual I guess.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the look. Take care,

Daniella xox

Still Wet, Still Cold!

Hello everyone,

These outfit pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago when the weather was very wet and very cold. Normally I would opt to stay inside on a day like this but I was meeting a friend for coffee and as I hadn't seen her for ages, there was definitely no way I was missing it. So I scrapped all my previous outfit ideas and went with some of my best wardrobe basics/favourites that are a godsend for times such as these.

I love J Brand jeans, they always make me feel good and wearing these flared cropped pair, always seem to feel slightly chicer then my normal go-to skinny jeans. I then wore a classic striped top with a leather jacket, I tell ya, you can't beat wardrobe staples like this on days as uninspiring as these and also just by adding a knitted cape over the top of a pretty basic look such as this, can be what sets it apart from the rest, against the leather jacket it instantly highlights the contrasting textures which in turn, creates depth within the look. The cape also creates a certain amount of length play and enhances the layered effect. To give the outfit some lift I bought out my vibrant red scarf, if you don't have one a red lip will also do the job, as you can see I just went ahead and did both :D Finishing off with a classic fedora hat, Chanel bag and my Acne Pistols. There you have it, another rainy day look.

Sorry if the quality of the photos aren't great but I hope you like the look and I look forward to your comments. Thank lovelies and take care,

p.s I just wanted to say thank you for sticking with me even though we had some problems with the blog over the weekend. Also I just wanted to be honest with you all and let you know my little nephew has sadly been in the hospital since sunday so I am spending a lot of time with him right now and even though i'm taking the little time I do have to make sure I comment on all your wonderful blogposts, there might be times when i'm not able to but I will be looking at them all at the very least :)

PFW: Day 1

Hey there lovelies,

Here is what I wore on my first day at Paris fashion week. A look I really loved wearing, a great thing about it was that it was comfy to wear, which as you know or can imagine is a bonus at Fashion week and even though I had on a lot of layers, to the point I can't remember how many vests I was actually wearing, I was still freezing and to be honest I don't think there are any clothes out there that are made for the weather we had to endure in Paris! It was Freeeezing!

So we didn't have time do a whole lot that day but we did go to the Balmain show to shoot some street style and Wow, that was an experience I won't forget! I was pretty much a nervous wreck after leaving there, crazy doesn't even begin to cover it, I mean there were literally fights breaking out. On the other hand it was awesome to see all the super stylish folk in all their finest.

Right onto the outfit, I really wanted to create a look that had a vintage opulent vibe about it but I wanted to do it in a way that's relevant to my own sense of style. I don't know if it's considered a faux-pa to wear the same items to multiple fashion weeks but here I am wearing these Asos checked trousers again, oh and also the Birkenstocks and socks combo made another appearance. Though this time I styled both trousers and shoes with these two strongly printed kimonos of mine, it's a shame you can't see more of the other kimono, annoyingly the scarf seemed to cover most of it up. I also wore this amazing green coat, that i've been hiding from you, I just adore the way it hangs and those giant furry cuffs are just way cool. I finished of with a black wide brim hat and my Chanel bag, for those classic touches that I love so much.

Well I hope you like this look. Thanks sweetie and take care,

LFW Outfit Three: A Day To Remember

Hey sweeties,

So when the last day of LFW came upon me, I decided to choose an outfit that reflected the cleaner and more minimal side of my style and where it lacked in fashion week favourites such as striking prints and colours I tried to make up for by focusing on playing with different styles and lengths, whilst also trying to create some interesting layers.

I started with these amazing culottes that I bought back along in the Reiss sale, which a lot of people presumed to be a skirt, though understandably so. Now it was to cold for me to wear them just bare legged, plus I got all summer for that, so instead I wore my leather trousers underneath, which for me was even cooler because it had an unexpected element to it. I wore my Grenson brogues and tucked my trousers into my socks to set an androganous tone. I as well wore my Acne navy padded sweater and my oldy but a goodie, Karren Millen leather jacket. Finishing of with my Chanel bag and knitted scarf for that classic touch and my Illesteva sunnies for a quirkier one. I have to say I was quite annoyed with where I took my outfit pictures, as there are so many beautiful areas to take advantage of but I guess I just didn't make the time for it.

What I love most about this outfit, is that it will always remind me of the incredible moment that Scott Schuman from the highly inspiring The Satorialist blog took my photo which was then featured on the blog a few days later. To be featured on such a popular street style blog is one thing but when it's a personal favourite blog of mine, I find it sets of feelings that are so humbling and unexplainable. I remember wanting to ask him so many questions, not to be nosy but because I am always so intrigued by a successful and talented  individual such as him but I decided that it was probably best that I didn't speak to much and sound like a complete Superfan! :D You can see the photo HERE
