Firstly, i'm sorry that the quality of these photos aren't that great, shooting inside, i'm finding to be a little bit hit and miss. I've had this vintage jacket for years now and i've only ever worn it once or twice but finally I was inspired to once again style and wear this velvet piece.
It be would hard to believe that a storm hit not all that long after taking these photos but it did, so we were really quite lucky to get these sunny shots when we did.
It's been a very long time since i've worn this fringed bag of mine, which was bought from Topshop years ago and I remember wearing it non stop, as at the time I was super into tanned leather bags. Anyway a few years on it's back but rather then over the shoulder, i'm using it as a clutch giving it a slightly more relaxed and slouchier feel. I loved the textured look it created being paired with my super fluffy fury vest. Dressing for the crazy weather these last few weeks, has certainly been no easy task.
Casual, comfy and relatively rainproof. We decided to quickly take these photos when there was a gap in the weather before we headed out, though that gap clearly didn't last for long, as you can tell from the photos, it started to hammer it down. Though like I've said before, taking photos in the rain really doesn't bother me all that much, as long as what i'm wearing isn't anything to delicate that could become damaged. I actually find it quite funny standing there getting soaked like some vain moron, plus I know the boyfriend hates it, so that makes it all the funnier! I tell him to enjoy it, dance around and have fun with it but no he's just not a rain loving kinda guy.
I know i've not really spoken much about my outfit but it's kinda basic, though weirdly I felt like I was channelling my inner Michael Jackson! Maybe it was the white socks on show and the black hat, I don't know but it's all good, he had the moves! :)
Before I leave you, I would like to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! I know there are some people out there, who don't like the forced gesture of it all but i'm of the opinion that we can live in a cold world sometimes and if we have at least one day where we can really celebrate and appreciate love, then is that really to bad?! I know I know each to their own but i'm just saying x
These photos i'm sharing with you today were taken a little while ago, when we went to visit my grandparents between Christmas and New Years. I truly can't express enough how much I love going there, mainly to see my Nanny and Grandad but also because I love the village where they live. The air, it feels unimaginably fresh and the countryside views give me an inner peace, that is different to anywhere else.
A minutes walk from my grandparents house and there are some old fashioned petrol pumps, I wanted to take some photos near them the last time I was there but that was in the summer and it was busy, so I avoided it but this time it was quite enough to take some. Come on, props like this are a dream when taking photos!
Yes maybe I look as like I should be singing "feed the birds" somewhere in victorian London but nope just something I wore on a chilly sunday back before Christmas. I always knew that this shirt dress by E.Tautz would be a versatile piece and I certainly never intended on constricting the dress to just the summer months.
I layered it with my cable-knit jumper, wool scarf and long grey coat to create some depth, whilst also playing with the different lengths. I've really fallen back in love with these old old military boots, that I originally bought from All Saints and I especially like teaming them with thick knitted socks. I also think they look extra edgy worn undone.
Well, thats all. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend,
