Tweed Girl/Boy

Hi everyone,

Firstly I want to say a massive thank you for the wonderful comments I received on yesterdays post about bringing awareness to M.E. I am still working on replying to everyone individually and also to the emails I received. I really am overwhelmed by everyone who not only took the time to read the post but also to those who took the time to reply with such positivity, understanding and encouragement.

This is something I wore few weeks back when the sun was shining and the flowers were looking pretty, a great day for taking some photos, the only catch was it was a bit chilly but that didn't bother me because I like myself a bit of, what I call "in-between" weather.

For this look I decided to combine two of my favourite styles, classic and androgyny. I chose some wardrobe staples of mine, like this classic navy v-neck sweater and talking of which, this one is from Jack Wills that I bought back when I was about seventeen and oh how I wish Jack Wills would bring it back as I can tell you all that after wearing it excessively for years now, it still continues to hold the same shape, colour and feel as it did when I first bought it! SO lovelies if you come across the perfect navy sweater, just buy it regardless because they are rare and you totally won't regret it. I borrowed the Boyfriends Chinos, oh and his watch, hehe I know i'm badass! Added in a vintage leather belt and my good old tweed blazer (also from Jack Wills) I turned up the sleeves a little for some extra detail, whilst also creating some subtle print play with the striped print on my ankle socks. Instead of my Grensons I chose to go with my Jil Sander metallic brogues, just to prevent the look from becoming to proper. A pink lip and standing under a pretty blossom tree was, for me, a great way to bring some femininity to the look.

Well I look forward to reading your comments. Thank you for reading and take care,

Hello my dears,

Even though in theory styling a pair of jogger trousers with metallic brogues, a checked shirt and a brightly coloured pair of printed socks sounds like a recipe for disaster, but in reality I was feeling pretty darn happy with how that combo actually turned out.

I don't know what it is about me, these trousers and brogues, I just always feel attracted to styling the two contrasting styles together and I think these metallic ones in particular are great for keeping it somewhat tonal, whilst still making a strong impact. In my teenage preppier days, I would often wear fitted shirts with jogger bottoms, so I thought it would be cool to take that little style memory and apply it to this look, though this time I chose this square shaped, checked shirt and wore it with my navy cardigan, which also has quite a square shape, as this I felt added to the smart/casual theme of the outfit and the loose fitting shapes felt quite unexpectedly, chic.

Instead of wearing a coat, I just kept to wooly gloves, a beanie and a scarf, it was enough to keep me warm for the short time I was out, so hey, why not?!

Hope you like the look sweeties,

PFW Day Two: Outfit Two

Hello lovelies,

Here is the outfit I wore on my second day when I was in Paris for fashion week. Just before I went I treated myself to a couple of new things from Topshop. Firstly I bought this check print shirt from their Unique range, as I had been craving it for so long and I also came across this pretty amazing military green trench coat from Topshop's Boutique range. I love trench coats, they are so classic and so chic and plus I am super into all green coats/jackets right now, so it had to be done.

I loved how these two pieces looked styled together and with that I found myself a starting point. And yes before anyone says, I did have multiple layers on underneath these thin pieces, even including a turtleneck but yes I was still frozen to the core, thank god for my awesome boyfriend coming to my rescue and bringing me an extra coat. I wore my navy Carven trousers with a classic brown belt, I just love these trousers so much, a favourite of mine for sure and I just felt they deserved to be worn at PFW, don't you agree? I wore them with my Jil Sander metallic brogues, another wardrobe fave of mine, I love how they looked against the rich navy blue and military green, whilst also giving of that 1920's androgynous appeal that I adore oh so much, it just never seems to dates and always looks chic. I added in my Missoni scarf for subtle play on prints and wore my Illesteva Sunglasses for a small touch of some good old, mad professor sexiness :D

I really enjoyed my second day there, probably because it was the only full day I had in Paris which made it feel a lot more relaxed and enjoyable. There were other reasons also but for now I'll remain quite on that one… Yes i'm one of those people! Once again Thank you Stedentrips for making Paris fashion week possisible!

Anyway hope you like this look. Thank you for always leaving me such lovely comments, I always look forward to reading them,

Hiii lovelies,

A couple of my newest things that I saved from showing you until now is this amazing skirt by Topshop Boutique. I also bought this basic grey tee also by Topshop Boutique.

I could actually talk about how much I love the Topshop Boutique range for hours, I think each piece they produce has such a timeless classic and yet a modern feel and if you wanted you could easily build your entire wardrobe (apart from shoes and bags) from just their range. I spend a lot of time checking the Boutique range online and this time I just couldn't resist this super luxe skirt. It's print, rich colours and the split up the side are all justifiable reasons for making the purchase.

When buying the skirt I couldn't bypass this luxe grey tee, just knowing it would make a great companion for the skirt. It gave casual balance whilst also contrasting those super luxe tones. I added in my turtleneck as the top on it's own would of just been to cold and with there being blue in the skirt, it only made sense to choose my navy one. I borrowed my mums necklaces and layered them up together and with both necklaces being silver helped them to blend in better with the grey tee, creating a far more subtle statement, whilst still adding a certain amount of depth and intrigue within the look. As this outfit quickly became quite layered with a mix match of items, I thought why not just go all out and throw in my furry jacket, my silver brogues and a pair of navy ankle socks. The result, yes possibly a bitt OTT but that kinda makes me love it more.

Well I hope you all like this look and I look forward to reading what you you think about this outfit.

Take care,

Classics

Hello,

How is everyone? Here is a fairly simple look of mine that was made up of a few of my wardrobe classics. I was originally going to take the photos inside as it raining that day but then the rain stopped just long enough for us to nip out and take a few.

Apart from the classic appeal of this outfit, I also wanted to set a androgynous tone with a laid back feel. I've had these Miu Miu trousers for a couple of years now and their cut and fit is truly beautiful, admittedly they are to long for me but i've never gotten round to having them taken up, so I just roll them up instead. I bought them the year I decided to make a change in my wardrobe, which was to start investing in classic, chic and timeless pieces and these are certainly just that. The same year I also bought this Silk striped shirt by Elizabeth & James, it's got more of a balloon shape rather then a classic one but the way it hangs is simply stunning, I let it just hang loose over my trousers along with a simple cardigan to give casual balance to these smarter pieces.

For my shoes I wore my beloved Jil Sander metallic brogues, they are a timeless style but with them being metallic gives of a far cooler feel. I tried to keep other accessories a little more edgier to contrast the smarter tone.

Well I'm going to love you and leave you now. Hope you like this look. Thank you and take care,
