Tights In Spring?!

Hello,

So i'm sure you are all fed up with seeing me in what seems like winter only outfits and even though the sun has been sticking around a little bit more lately it has still been pretty cold or at least when I took these photos it was. I don't know if any of you's do the same but when it's spring and the days are still so annoyingly cold and windy, every now and then I will just pretend it's the spring weather we all know and love, the kind of weather where you can wear a skirt with bare legs or some open-toe sandals and hey, maybe even a light jacket! But when I have those days, I quickly come to regret my optimistic approach and before I know it i'm back to wearing heavy coats, tights and sweaters.

Classic combinations seem to be my saviour right now and even though this look isn't screaming spring, I have tried to incorporate the season I am obsessing over right now in other ways such as wearing a lighter scarf rather then heavier one and a chambray shirt (thanks to the boyfriends wardrobe) as little things like that do make the difference, for me anyway. I came across this extremely old denim skirt of mine a little ago, from when I went through my "denim skirt only" phase when I was about 15/16 and thought i'd give it a spin once again, I felt it worked especially for giving the outfit a casual tone, what do you think? To put the finishing touches on this outfit I kept it classic with this oldy but a goodie tweed swing coat that I got from Jack Wills years ago and of course stuck with my trusty Grensons.

Hope you like the look and if you have managed to stick with me through my ramblings then BRAVO to you! Take care lovelies,

Daniella xox

Furry Lining

Hi lovelies,

Some more photos of a look I wore way back before all the fashion week madness started. Sorry i'm having to go back so far with my outfit pictures but between recovering from fashion week stuff and with the weather having major attitude problems at the moment, I haven't had many opportunities to make many new outfit pictures, so this will just have to do for now.

It was a sunday afternoon when I wore this and I was in the mood for wearing something in-between casual and classic mixed with something somewhat androgynous. I started with these navy cropped trousers, I bought them from Whistles a couple of years ago now and I have worn them a lot in that time, a wardrobe classic worth investing in for sure, I find they are especially great for transeasonal  dressing. I styled them with a simple white tee and a black knitted cardigan, I was also wanting wear this utility jacket but it's more of a spring piece, so I decided to wear my furry gilet underneath, a great way to keep warm and add interesting detail and depth to an outfit. My platform brogues were the perfect shoe as they incorporated all the classic, comfy and androgynous elements that I was looking for. There is one thing though that really puts me off this look and that is how stupid my hair looks, I mean there's messy-cool and then there is just plain messy, I swear to you I have heard of that thing called a comb but I guess I should of actually tried using it, or at least pulled it back into a chic little bun.

Oh well I hope you like the look sweeties. Thank you and take care,

Daniella xox

Something Similar

Hi lovelies,

I had been wanting to wear this Acne skirt since the beginning of winter and wasn't sure on how I wanted to style it but in the end decided that maybe it would be cool to wear it over these navy cropped trousers and liking how the combo looked I decided to go with it. I wore this navy cardigan with a classic white shirt, my fitted blazer over the top and then these Grenson brogues for a modern, preppy twist.

I finished with my Ally Capellino bag, as it's always a great accessory for adding an instant splash of colour. Well I hope you like the look. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day,

PFW Day 3 Outfit 3

Hello,

How is everyone this weekend? First of all sorry about these photos, I think my boyfriend took them in about three minutes flat, as we were rushing to leave to get to the airport. I also think my outfit looks a bit scruffy as before heading to the Viktor and Rolf show we stopped by the Bureau Seutail Showroom and were lucky enough to play dress up, so I guess I didn't put my look back together very neatly.

I remember feeling a little sad when these photos were taken because my day seemed to be cut so short and I just wanted to grasp every second I could but due to the lack of flights running that day we had to get a fairly early plane back, next time I'm thinking Eurostar for sure! But at least I got to go to PFW and I can't help but feel incredibly grateful for that.

So I wanted to do a tonal white look whilst I was there, just always feels refreshing after wearing a couple of heavier looks the days before. I started with layering a cream jumper over my topshop Unique shirt and a plain white tee, which I then styled with my Cos skirt. I liked the white on white layers and the mix of summer and winter textures this combination of pieces created. For footwear I chose my Grenson brogues and wore them with black tights (I know, not as cool as bare legs) and my red check socks for an instant burst of colour. Now originally I was just going to wear this furry coat by Alice & Olivia but due the super cold temperatures I decided to throw in my camel coat also, so even though it probably resulted in me looking like a layer cake at least it worked in terms of the colour pallet and kept me from shaking like a leaf in the feezing cold. Finishing of the look with my Illasteva sunnies and Prada tote bag for a classic meet quirky play on accessories.

Hope you like this look lovelies. Take care,

LFW Outfit Three: A Day To Remember

Hey sweeties,

So when the last day of LFW came upon me, I decided to choose an outfit that reflected the cleaner and more minimal side of my style and where it lacked in fashion week favourites such as striking prints and colours I tried to make up for by focusing on playing with different styles and lengths, whilst also trying to create some interesting layers.

I started with these amazing culottes that I bought back along in the Reiss sale, which a lot of people presumed to be a skirt, though understandably so. Now it was to cold for me to wear them just bare legged, plus I got all summer for that, so instead I wore my leather trousers underneath, which for me was even cooler because it had an unexpected element to it. I wore my Grenson brogues and tucked my trousers into my socks to set an androganous tone. I as well wore my Acne navy padded sweater and my oldy but a goodie, Karren Millen leather jacket. Finishing of with my Chanel bag and knitted scarf for that classic touch and my Illesteva sunnies for a quirkier one. I have to say I was quite annoyed with where I took my outfit pictures, as there are so many beautiful areas to take advantage of but I guess I just didn't make the time for it.

What I love most about this outfit, is that it will always remind me of the incredible moment that Scott Schuman from the highly inspiring The Satorialist blog took my photo which was then featured on the blog a few days later. To be featured on such a popular street style blog is one thing but when it's a personal favourite blog of mine, I find it sets of feelings that are so humbling and unexplainable. I remember wanting to ask him so many questions, not to be nosy but because I am always so intrigued by a successful and talented  individual such as him but I decided that it was probably best that I didn't speak to much and sound like a complete Superfan! :D You can see the photo HERE

Thanks for reading and take care,
