For years I hated these puffer jackets, they reminded me of people who had given up on their appearance but since learning it's not what you wear it's how you wear it, i'm now a lot more open to what comes into my wardrobe. I bought this one a couple of years ago now, you've probably seen me wear it in a fair few of my outfit posts and it's so undeniably warm, that sometimes I can't help but reach for it in these cold, windy and wet temps.
The boyfriend and I were taking our little nephew out for the afternoon with no real idea of what we were going to do, so jeans, comfy footwear and a good knit was the fail-safe option I went for in the end, well, and the puffer jacket. The wind was baltic that day and seeing as i'm far from any kind of professional model, I really couldn't fake the fact that I was super cold and so that's my poor excuse for my face in these photos!
So, let me take you back to Friday, it was Valentines day and the boyfreind was ever so sweet, he went to my favourite crystal shop & bought me a beautiful piece of Rose Quartz which was very thoughtful, I must say! Oh and some chocolates. Then in the afternoon we attended a friends wedding, which was a beautiful thing to be part of and especially on the day of love so to speak. At this point I was little unwell with sore throat but nothing I thought to be serious.
Saturday came and yay time to pack for LFW, I was going to be taking my sister and nephew along with me so I was extra excited! Saturday night came and now I'm really not feeling good, I thought after a good nights sleep I would be fine though. Sunday morning came and after not sleeping all night due to the increasing effects of the Flu, that was that I was bedridden. I'm starting to panic, I could barley summon up the energy to go to the bathroom let alone get dressed and travel to London and do the LFW thing, I mean imagine if someone might ask to take my photo, my nose would be running uncontrollably, I'd look like I'm trying to catch flys due to not being able to breath through my nose and well, I'd probably end up fainting due to dizziness! Not ideal right?!
So, basically LFW was cancelled for me! I was gutted and especially when I found out I couldn't get my money back on the hotel, as I thought that might be one good thing, that at least I'd save some money and could buy myself something new for PFW but no :( Ah well, at least I have paris to look forward to and out of the two I know which one I would rather! Best stock up on my zinc, vitamin C and anything else I can think of, can you imagine if the same happened with Paris?! Oh God, I can't even stand the thought! So forgive me for not talking about my outfit, i'm choosing to have a moan instead today but hey, can you blame me.

I have to say, i'm glad I reunited myself with these old boots of mine! They have been handy with the rough weather we've had over the last few weeks. I really love how the worn out brown leather looks against clean white denim, though the jeans are mega old and so before throwing them out, I chopped of the length a bit, just the right update they needed. Wearing my slightly tailored camel coat and a navy turtleneck gave my look the classic and smarter twist it needed to contrast the scruffy boots. Finished off with my favourite farmer green hat.
What I wear on a chilly, wet, windy sunday, when we're just popping into town and i'm actually more concerned with getting home, snuggling up on the sofa and watching a movie. I know, why bother taking outfit photos?! But I can't help myself one thing leads to another and before I know i've put together an outfit that I deem photo worthy, maybe? I don't know but here they are anyway.
This was an outfit that the boyfriend actually complimented me on but when it's a simple outfit equation such skinny jeans, boots, cardigan and a gilet he's bound to like it. His boy brain doesn't have to think to hard or work out why I'm wearing a skirt over trousers, mixing one print with another or at worst questioning what sex I am!
It really didn't take me any time to wear my new Acne boots, I received them on a thursday and was out strutting around in them on the Friday! Usually I reframe from wearing new pieces straight away, I like to keep the new feeling there as long as possible but I just couldn't wait. Though I was a little sad after wearing them, as their light beige sole had become dirtied by the damp ground (sad face).
I wore them with this green printed skirt and cardigan that I had a few years back from Cos. I don't care if the print seems dated, I simply love the design to much for worrying about that. I added a red printed kimono over the top but then tucked into my skirt and my good old classic camel coat to neutralise the clashing of the prints.
The only thing that annoyed me, was that I had left my boots zipper undone! Usually details like this are something I do on purpose but this time it was a complete accident, I even considered re-shooting all the photos but in the end I accepted that it really is not a big deal.
