Spring In Whites

Hello lovelies,

This is something I wore a couple of weeks or so ago, the sun was out but a cold wind was still showing us just who's the boss around here!

Winter whites, summer whites and so why not some spring whites?! Well sorta because to be fair I am only wearing one piece of white clothing here, so maybe I should of named this post something different but its done now and come on, we all know how difficult blogpost naming can be at times! So this outfit was all about compromises, I wanted to wear these summer trousers but it was just to cold to wear them with a simple white tee, so I compromised by picking my super thick cable-knit sweater, I wanted to wear sandals so I compromised by wearing my Birkenstocks but with some extra thick socks and then for my finishing touches I wore my Illesteva sunnies and my Ally Capellino bag and yes I would of loved to of left the look like this but with the cold wind I decided to compromise with mother nature by adding in this olive coloured scarf. And that my lovelies, is how I ended up with this sexy ensemble, I don't how the boyfriend restrained himself :D ;)

Anyways, I best be off. Thank you in advance for any comments and take care,

Daniella xox

Furry Lining

Hi lovelies,

Some more photos of a look I wore way back before all the fashion week madness started. Sorry i'm having to go back so far with my outfit pictures but between recovering from fashion week stuff and with the weather having major attitude problems at the moment, I haven't had many opportunities to make many new outfit pictures, so this will just have to do for now.

It was a sunday afternoon when I wore this and I was in the mood for wearing something in-between casual and classic mixed with something somewhat androgynous. I started with these navy cropped trousers, I bought them from Whistles a couple of years ago now and I have worn them a lot in that time, a wardrobe classic worth investing in for sure, I find they are especially great for transeasonal  dressing. I styled them with a simple white tee and a black knitted cardigan, I was also wanting wear this utility jacket but it's more of a spring piece, so I decided to wear my furry gilet underneath, a great way to keep warm and add interesting detail and depth to an outfit. My platform brogues were the perfect shoe as they incorporated all the classic, comfy and androgynous elements that I was looking for. There is one thing though that really puts me off this look and that is how stupid my hair looks, I mean there's messy-cool and then there is just plain messy, I swear to you I have heard of that thing called a comb but I guess I should of actually tried using it, or at least pulled it back into a chic little bun.

Oh well I hope you like the look sweeties. Thank you and take care,

Daniella xox

Urban Prepster

Hello my dears,

Even though in theory styling a pair of jogger trousers with metallic brogues, a checked shirt and a brightly coloured pair of printed socks sounds like a recipe for disaster, but in reality I was feeling pretty darn happy with how that combo actually turned out.

I don't know what it is about me, these trousers and brogues, I just always feel attracted to styling the two contrasting styles together and I think these metallic ones in particular are great for keeping it somewhat tonal, whilst still making a strong impact. In my teenage preppier days, I would often wear fitted shirts with jogger bottoms, so I thought it would be cool to take that little style memory and apply it to this look, though this time I chose this square shaped, checked shirt and wore it with my navy cardigan, which also has quite a square shape, as this I felt added to the smart/casual theme of the outfit and the loose fitting shapes felt quite unexpectedly, chic.

Instead of wearing a coat, I just kept to wooly gloves, a beanie and a scarf, it was enough to keep me warm for the short time I was out, so hey, why not?!

Hope you like the look sweeties,

Raw

Hello everyone,

So with the weather being somewhat kind to us last saturday and actually feeling really quite mild out, I took the opportunity to wear this incredibly beautiful silk parka and striped vest by the very unique brand - FAD. Each and every one of the designs have a very raw and original feel, something I personally find refreshing when I come across collections and designers that I haven't seen or heard of before. If you want to see for yourself, click here.

I layered the silk, striped vest over my old striped shirt as I liked how along with this tie-dye parka it created a slightly unusual take on clashing prints whilst also giving the outfit a certain amount of depth. I kept my bottom half simple with just a pair of classic navy cropped trousers and then wore my Skovgaard sandals for a slightly more edgier vibe and to also create contrast against all the layers up top. For my accessories, I wore my olive scarf as it was a good compromise between keeping me warm and still working well with the colour scheme. I had also found this old wooden bangle of mine and thought it would only compliment those earthy tones in a minimal yet effective way.

Well I look forward to reading your comments and I hope you all like this look. Thanks lovelies,

Daniella xox

PFW: Day 1

Hey there lovelies,

Here is what I wore on my first day at Paris fashion week. A look I really loved wearing, a great thing about it was that it was comfy to wear, which as you know or can imagine is a bonus at Fashion week and even though I had on a lot of layers, to the point I can't remember how many vests I was actually wearing, I was still freezing and to be honest I don't think there are any clothes out there that are made for the weather we had to endure in Paris! It was Freeeezing!

So we didn't have time do a whole lot that day but we did go to the Balmain show to shoot some street style and Wow, that was an experience I won't forget! I was pretty much a nervous wreck after leaving there, crazy doesn't even begin to cover it, I mean there were literally fights breaking out. On the other hand it was awesome to see all the super stylish folk in all their finest.

Right onto the outfit, I really wanted to create a look that had a vintage opulent vibe about it but I wanted to do it in a way that's relevant to my own sense of style. I don't know if it's considered a faux-pa to wear the same items to multiple fashion weeks but here I am wearing these Asos checked trousers again, oh and also the Birkenstocks and socks combo made another appearance. Though this time I styled both trousers and shoes with these two strongly printed kimonos of mine, it's a shame you can't see more of the other kimono, annoyingly the scarf seemed to cover most of it up. I also wore this amazing green coat, that i've been hiding from you, I just adore the way it hangs and those giant furry cuffs are just way cool. I finished of with a black wide brim hat and my Chanel bag, for those classic touches that I love so much.

Well I hope you like this look. Thanks sweetie and take care,
