Tights In Spring?!

Hello,

So i'm sure you are all fed up with seeing me in what seems like winter only outfits and even though the sun has been sticking around a little bit more lately it has still been pretty cold or at least when I took these photos it was. I don't know if any of you's do the same but when it's spring and the days are still so annoyingly cold and windy, every now and then I will just pretend it's the spring weather we all know and love, the kind of weather where you can wear a skirt with bare legs or some open-toe sandals and hey, maybe even a light jacket! But when I have those days, I quickly come to regret my optimistic approach and before I know it i'm back to wearing heavy coats, tights and sweaters.

Classic combinations seem to be my saviour right now and even though this look isn't screaming spring, I have tried to incorporate the season I am obsessing over right now in other ways such as wearing a lighter scarf rather then heavier one and a chambray shirt (thanks to the boyfriends wardrobe) as little things like that do make the difference, for me anyway. I came across this extremely old denim skirt of mine a little ago, from when I went through my "denim skirt only" phase when I was about 15/16 and thought i'd give it a spin once again, I felt it worked especially for giving the outfit a casual tone, what do you think? To put the finishing touches on this outfit I kept it classic with this oldy but a goodie tweed swing coat that I got from Jack Wills years ago and of course stuck with my trusty Grensons.

Hope you like the look and if you have managed to stick with me through my ramblings then BRAVO to you! Take care lovelies,

Daniella xox

Colder

Heyyy,

Well I have definitely rekindled my deep love for darker colours again after pretty much refusing them last winter, okay refusing is definitly an exaggeration, what I mean to say is I was far more into colour last winter. It can be tricky styling darker colours together as each piece can easily all seem melt into each other and end up looking like one big dark blur. Breaking up that blur can be done by either layering different textures or creating interesting length play, it's all about creating depth. An annoying thing about winter is that it can bring very dark and dull days even early on and it was just unfortunate that I decided I was wearing this outfit, on one of those dark and depressing days and the result of the photos wasn't great but I hope you still enjoy them.

Anyway on to the look, You might of seen these trousers before, they were bought on sale about four years ago from All Saints for a ridiculously cheap price but the only thing was I found them very difficult to style due to the way they hung, that was until I realised that I just need to belt them up higher in order for them to hang right. I love that they are mens inspired and have this baggy yet still kinda tailored look. With this outfit I wanted to contrast those androgynous tones in an ever so slight way, so I teamed my Paul & joe sister floral blouse with them, which admittedly is a bit cold for the winter but then that only gave me more reason to layer. And when it came to layering I also wanted to create a bit of texture play and so I layered my gilet over my leather, a combination I couldn't get enough of last year and am certainly still loving this year, works every time!

I finished of with my Flatform Grenson brogues and a pair of navy ankle socks. Also this Topshop beanie that I am in love with but sadly got stolen by a some lowlife bitches ( I know thats not very graceful but in this instance I'm allowing myself to let of a little steam) when I went to London, luckily I still got a few looks out of it that are still to be seen on the blog. I could rant and rave about this but i'll leave it at that. I just hope they realise karma is a bigger bitch!

Okay I have wound myself up and need to go and chill. Hope you like the look lovelies. Thanksss

Army Boots & A Knitted Caped

Hello,

Hope everyone is well.

Just a little post for you today. Wearing mainly older pieces of mine but they are all pieces I have been very fond of and would consider to be classic.

Wanting to create and combine classic-chic with an androgynous edge I started of with these Miu Miu trousers and styled them with my oversized white shirt (not that you can see a whole of it) to continue that classic approach of the trousers. For warmth and layers I wore my knitted cape and new Topshop grey scarf, the tone on tone helped to brake up the strict styling of the black and white. I liked how the textures of these two pieces bought a slightly casual tone to the outfit and speaking of casual I decided to wear these very old army style boots of mine that I had years ago from All Saints. I remember living in these boots for a very long time, to the point I almost bought a second pair! But since then my style has changed a lot and I haven't worn them for a couple of years, that was until now. I rolled my trousers up over them instead of tucking them in, I know they could appear an odd choice of shoe but I just really quite adore the edgier appeal they bought to the outfit.

I hope you also like this look. Thank you and have a awesome day!
