I dug out this old Ralph Lauren knit of mine back along. It's another piece i've always loved but struggled to style and wear it in way that felt original and relevant to my current style. Finally it came to me and I went with a classic meets sporty vibe. I hope now i've broken the barrier that was stopping me before, that new ideas and inspiration for this knit will follow.
So, i'm back from my time in Paris and it was certainly a memorable one but more on that soon!
Casual, comfy and relatively rainproof. We decided to quickly take these photos when there was a gap in the weather before we headed out, though that gap clearly didn't last for long, as you can tell from the photos, it started to hammer it down. Though like I've said before, taking photos in the rain really doesn't bother me all that much, as long as what i'm wearing isn't anything to delicate that could become damaged. I actually find it quite funny standing there getting soaked like some vain moron, plus I know the boyfriend hates it, so that makes it all the funnier! I tell him to enjoy it, dance around and have fun with it but no he's just not a rain loving kinda guy.
I know i've not really spoken much about my outfit but it's kinda basic, though weirdly I felt like I was channelling my inner Michael Jackson! Maybe it was the white socks on show and the black hat, I don't know but it's all good, he had the moves! :)
Before I leave you, I would like to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! I know there are some people out there, who don't like the forced gesture of it all but i'm of the opinion that we can live in a cold world sometimes and if we have at least one day where we can really celebrate and appreciate love, then is that really to bad?! I know I know each to their own but i'm just saying x
Pulling out another old favourite of mine, this striped top by Alexander Wang. I've always loved the sporty influence this top has and how fun it is to style but i'll admit that when I first bought it, I was concerned that it would date quite quickly but i'm still finding ways to wear it, so I think i'm safe for now at least!
I thought it would be nice to wear it with other blue pieces, so for a casual yet monochromatic feel, I styled the top with my navy scarf and some dark blue jeans. Completed with my go-to shoes and SUPER fluffy gilet.
Yep this Zebra print sweater has made a little comeback. I just love how warm and cosy it is, making it to hard to resist! I never stopped loving this sweater, only I feel it's a bit of a statement piece and the trick with statement items is that, they should just be bought out from time to time and then that way, it will always feel exciting and new when styling and wearing it.
I'm always attracted to wearing this sweater with grey, so it made complete sense that this coat by Ganni would make a delightful partner. Everything else I kept simple but I also kept in mind, that by choosing more textured pieces would help in lending some extra depth and interest to the outfit.
