LFW Outfit Two: Just Call Me Coconut Balls

Hello everyone,

So here is what I wore on my second day at LFW and I know I know this outfit is not going to be everyones taste but thats fine because mainstream hasn't ever really been my thing. And the thing is, I really did feel confident in this regardless of the confused faces of the onlookers that passed this fashion freak by. And with being someone who has always enjoyed playing with proportions and often picking and styling pieces that can be perceived as not very flattering, I found this look to be quite a strong representation of that and I also think it's a reflection of my current love for skater-boy inspired looks, that I'm really into right now.

Well I have had these Topshop jeans for a few years now and they've always been rolled up at the ends, as thats how they came when I bought them and for some crazy reason I never thought to unroll them. So when it came to trying on outfits for LFW I tried it and really liked the result. I wore my snake print shirt with my leather sleeved top and then this basic oversized white tee, which I then finished off with my furry gilet which I felt formulated a mix of texture and print whilst still maintaing a cool and casual balance. And since I was already on the road to a somewhat unflattering look, I thought why not throw in the super sexy combo of thick winter socks and a pair of Birkenstocks, yeah why not?! Haha and yes that totally rhymes, god I'm so awesome! I finished of with my navy beanie and my ladylike Prada tote, which I thought was great for completely contrasting those urban tones.

Anyway I hope you like this my lovelies. Take care,

Happy Sunday everyone,

So I thought it had been a while since I wore my beloved sequin skirt and well the cold and slightly wet weather was not going to stop me from wearing it. Oh yeah fighting talk!!

Yes I once again wore my navy polo-neck knit, I promise you i've washed it! This navy knit was perfect for casualising (new/made up word alert!) a short sequinned skirt, I as well threw my parka into the mix, I liked the urban appeal it bought to the look and how it contrasted those glamorous tones of the skirt. For extra detail I wore my furry gilet underneath my coat, which of course was also perfect for keeping me extra warm. I finished of with some classic pieces, such as my trusty Acne pistol boots, perfect for cold and wet weather and also my Chanel bag.

Well hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you and take care,

Whiter In The Winter

So a new week and how about a new outfit post? Still loving me some white on white for winter, I decided to put together this look. I hunted down my very old white jeans, that I've had since I was sixteen! I can't throw them out until I have found myself another pair, something I hope to do very soon. I wanted to style them with a plain white tee but that was in a heavier cotton and since I wasn't having much luck with my own wardrobe, I decided to raid the boyfriends rail and he only had one, which had a giant print on the front. So with not wanting to give up on the idea I just wore it backwards.

To build and create those tonal layers I wore my trusty old neutral coloured cardigan, it broke up the white on white in an ever so slight way and subtle way whilst also creating some some clean and simple lines. I thought my sheep friend, otherwise known as my gilet by 2nd Day would be a fine choice. It suited the colour pallet, kept me warm and hey, it's just so awesome to wear! When it came to shoes I resorted back to my Grenson brogues, they achieved that overall casual feel that I wanted but in a way that was still classic and chic, or at least in my opinion. Yes I kept my ankles bare, for sartorial reasons, yeah sure or maybe it's just because i'm nuts. I finished of with some minimal and neutral coloured accessories apart from Ally Capellino bag, I remember it was a choice between the Prada and this Ally, mum and sis thought Prada but I liked the unexpected splash of colour of the Ally bag.

And there you have it, hope you like this look sweethearts. Thank you and take care,

Mid Length Leather

So I can finally show you a look with this gorgeous leather skirt that I bought from Reiss a couple of months ago now. I wore this outfit a few weeks before Christmas and have to say I did find this skirt unexpectedly difficult to style. Though this is due to the fact that I just love it so much, that I wanted to create a look that showed off it's perfectness in the best possible way. With nothing coming to mind and satisfying that perfect image, I decided to leave it a while.

So eventually I came to styling it with my navy roll-neck sweater from Cos, a piece that I've practically lived in all December. It seems navy and olive green has become an unintentional favourite colour combination of mine this winter, so it was only fitting that I styled my navy top with this olive green skirt. I wore my KG boots and added a little touch of burgundy with my ankle socks and then my final item of clothing was this gilet by 2nd Day. I won't deny the fact that I was indeed questioning whether I liked such a volumed piece on top with a mid length skirt and I'll admit that did check myself at least two or three times in the mirror in an attempt to try and get used to how these pieces looked together and to be perfectly honest it was only when I looked back at the pictures, that I was glad I went for it. I know it won't be everyones taste but hey, i'm sure a lot of my outfits aren't!

Of course I needed to add some finishing details, so I wore my navy beanie hat and layered up a couple of my necklaces, something I wouldn't usually wear with a turtleneck or a roll neck but thats why I firmly believe in the saying "never say never" especially when it comes to style and fashion!

Well I think I have exhausted myself writing this, so I bid you farewell. Take care my dears,

The Old & The New

Hi lovelies,

So here is one of my favourite buys for this winter, this amazing gilet by 2nd DAY. I bought it about a month ago and have been really looking forward to wearing it. I remember trying it on when I first unwrapped it from its My Wardrobe tissue paper and showing my mum with her then proceeding to say that I looked like a sheep in reply to that I said, well the chicest damn sheep you'll ever see!

I can't say that this outfit was styled around this jacket, it was more about trying to style these old summer shorts of mine with a more autumnal flair. Their colour is a great base to start with and their slight oversized fit called for another oversized piece, so I chose this navy sweater thats actually from the mens department in M&S it's quite old but it did the job. I also added a classic white shirt underneath, as I think a navy v-neck teamed with a white shirt is such a chic combination, that I never seem to tier of and I love nothing more then taking an edgier approach to a classic combo such as this. For my shoes I couldn't resist bringing out these old knee boots of mine that I bought from Topshop years ago, I remember I loved them so much that I bought them in a size to big, so now I always have to wear them with at least two pairs of socks. Ah but it's worth it!

I then added the gilet, it gives the look a whole different feel which is why I took photos of the outfit with and with out the gilet. It was just a little to chilly to wear the outfit with out a jacket and so that was that I gave into temptation and wore the amazing piece by 2nd Day. Wearing this created an undoubtable touch of 70's flair but with there still being a strong sense of minimal styling alongside such classic-chic pieces, made sure it was only an influence and not a running theme. Or at least that's how view it.

Well I hope you like this look. I am truly grateful for any comments I receive.

Take care,

Daniella xox

p.s sorry for the excessive amount of photos. It was just to hard narrowing it down this time, so I just went with it.
